A good take on empathy and compassion. Some of the emotional scenes didn't hit as hard as they could have, and there was one bullying scene that felt very out of place
the 7th graders who took the time out of their brief vacation to follow the kids out to the woods...just so they could make fun of them and call Auggie "Gollem"? Okay.
, but it was an enjoyable film nonetheless.
Another user here was a bit confused as to the character development of one character, so to clear things up for them and potential viewers:
His parents were even more toxic than he was, and were most likely the root cause of his horrid behaviour. It doesn't excuse what he did, but after everything was all laid out it seemed to make him realise that he was in the wrong. I didn't feel sorry for him as there's no excuse for telling another person to kill themselves, but it does help explain why he was the way he was and why he might have been sorry. The second bully's development did feel rather unnatural, though. Maybe if it was a slower progression, but it felt like it was overnight. Way too fast.

Pretty cliché and predictable. 6 out of 10 starsZEDG
OVERLY sentimental. It just wouldn't let up. Too many artificial fairytale moments, nothing like real life.Boei
Too much sentiment..
