People need to know war is a last resort. It's not a hollywood movie, and the Emperors, Kings, or Presidents use their military like fodder. In war nobody wins but the bankers that finance them.

The search for truth and at one point the obsession to find confession from the executioners, so strong.

Actually Okuzaki told to Hara that want to be filmed in the moment that he was going to commit the murder. Hara was so tempted but Immamura advised him about the suffering and the pain he going to bring him after the movie. That story makes my veins freeze!
