.. and the grossest, disturbing Jensen film so far, too. And still hilarious!

Seen it at home and don't think I would be even able to stomach it in 3D in theatre. This is a pure nightmare/delight for people with fear of heights (depends if you see it as light entertainment or horror).
Although a bit weak on the characterization, it's captivating for a full two hours. Not bad!

Wicked performance by Dennis Hopper, thick soundtrack. Nice.

A gripping document of very contemporary history, also well-shot, edited and examined.

Nice horror short story - recommended for fans of Edgar Allan Poe, Thomas Ligotti and Tim Burton.

Holy shit, this is one of the weirdest things I've seen in a while and pretty outstanding. It's hard to say what exactly is going on in these 23 minutes, but if you're interested in a surreal, fucked up mutant version of a Tool music video, you should wait no longer to check it out.

Honestly, I was afraid that Tsai Ming-Liang might be too cryptic for my tastes, but this film stayed with me.

A whole film shouldered by one actress and poetic cinematography. Very good.

Sorry, that marshmallow costume distracted me too much. Very weird movie.

The final fight sequence is just ridiculously fantastic. Alas, Drunken Master II is one of the last examples for Jackie Chan's amazing acrobatic talent before his departure into meh-ish action cinema.

We encounter a green snake with blueish and yellow patterns as well as a white snake with red patterns and shades of bright blue. Hope this helps.

Just what the heck is this and how did it make the Chinese Top 100?
This is exactly the kind of movie to usually end up on MST3K!

It's pleasing to see such a film in a HD format. Vivid colors and locations. Nice early Shaw.

BITCH BETTER HAD NOT CHEATED!

Well, this wasn't very rewarding in any way. I guess no one's going to watch Mimong other than for its historical value or a cheap check.

One film to cover many disciplines in the Martial Arts list the best at once: fantasy, horror, romance and entertainment without being too goofy. Nice!

Gory, grindhouseish. Why isn't it on the Martial Arts list?

Honestly, if the movie hadn't Tsui Harks committed style and driven special effects, it would very likely end up on this list. That said, although it can be pretty trippy towards the end: if you don't have a thing for wuxia with an emphasis on fantasy, better stay away from this film.

Is it just me or does the story come off as totally clumsy? I have to say I still liked it because of the beautiful looks and strong characters.

Weird choppy acting, cheap sound effects and fake sets kept me from experiencing this as one of martial arts' greatest. Then there's the final fight though, when the movie ultimately bares its teeth. /bum-tss
