Disappointing.
There is a good story wrapped in (mostly) decent animation/CGI and a fair amount of gore, but it's completely overshadowed by a really bad script, weak direction and furiously mediocre voice acting.
Feels like everyone involved nerdgasmed on the awesomeness of the Dead Space universe and forgot to do their jobs properly.

The Blu-Ray sound and picture quality was very good, but the extra material was simply underwhelming. A highly questionable purchase.

If you really want non-game Dead Space material, lower your expectations before watching. Overall, not recommended.

It's not like the first movie was great, but this is a perfect example of a completely pointless sequel.
If you can suffer through the initial 35 minutes of tedious build-up, the movie finally gets some momentum with the piano scene and the speech scene. Those two scenes were pretty nice, afterwards it's more or less what you can expect and the bumbling hero emerges spoiler.

Someone please tell Kevin James that he isn't funny simply because he's fat and if he has no other talents than being fat, for the love of humanity, get out of the industry.

I'll admit to letting up a few chuckles but that's really it. This movie should have died on the writers desk... oh wait, Kevin James wrote this garbage and of course, the Happy Madison crew produced it... so it's more of the same old inbred stale shitty humor we've been hammered with by Adam Sandler and his posse over the last decade or two. Urgh.

Really not recommended.

More pleasing than "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and less annoying. As always with the Marvel Cinematic Universe products, it ties in very well with the rest of the MCU.
Strong acting and interesting characters makes it worth watching.

Mildly recommended.

This isn't the show I wanted to it to be. It tries to tell a classic S.H.I.E.L.D. tale spoiler - MCU style. Something we should all have learned long ago: you can't please everyone. Sadly, they tried.
Being a long time comics lover and Marvel fan, I've had to put up with a lot of shenanigans in this new Marvel Cinematic Universe and you guessed it, this show has plenty more.

Crazy overworked plots with twists, fake twists, twists within twists and after a while, you don't even know if they are trying to hold it together any more or simply going for chaos and impossible continuity breaks. Of course, you can always pull the ol' Marvel trump card! (Just make anything up and magically fix whatever mess you just created. See any Marvel hero/villain who has "died" and is still around...)

The characters wildly implausible behavior and ambiguous morality is probably the most annoying aspect, closely followed by the at times questionable acting. The lack of Avengers cameos is disappointing as well. Censored, bloodless fighting always frustrates me.

Highlights include the various origin stories, Fitz-Simmons, Phil Coulson and the show really is very beautiful to look at, from good looking actors to great visual effects and cinematography.

After all, I still recommend people to watch it... with a note of warning to comic/Marvel fans especially - the cheese is strong with this one.

A solid take on the blind crusader's adventures in the very beginning of his career as a hero, MCU style. Overall very well made show, strong cast performances with Vincent D'Onofrio in absolute top form.
My only gripe is the sometimes ridiculous fight choreography. Of course, you would expect a lot of fighting in this show and it's quite graphical violence.

Love the show, didn't like this mess.

While not simply a longer episode, it's an attempt at a full musical performance in a form resembling opera. It isn't really "opera"-opera though.

The music is as always fantastic, but the individual vocals are terrible. Only Abigails song (sung by Raya Yarbrough) was properly vocalized, truly excellent performance there. Overall the whole thing simply disappoints on most levels and should honestly be avoided, period.

Regretfully not recommended.

Relaxed take on time travel in the final (?) Stargate (SG-1 at least) movie ever. One last fix for your Stargate SG-1 cravings which both satisfies and entertains.

Although "Stargate: Continuum" is all right, the other Stargate movie released in the same year, "Stargate: The Ark of Truth" is rather weak.

Fans of the series should grab both, others would do well to avoid the Ark and only grab Continuum.
If you don't like sci-fi at all, stay away.

Basically a longer episode for the fans, in order to mop up and close the cancelled series. Not really meaningful to others and sadly fails as a movie due to poor writing.

Awesome and weird, really well made old school animation with spectacular voicework. Try to recognize all the guest voices!
First season is only 10 episodes at 11 minutes each, well worth your time.

Viewers should remember that above all, this is an american show created for entertainment. It's wild speculation and over-the-top posturing with questionable historical accuracy.

Still, entertaining to some degree.

Terrible in all aspects.
The idiotic script is accompanied by crappy animation and awful voice work. If you don't care about anything other than seeing Iron Man and Hulk in action, then go ahead. Otherwise steer well clear of this train wreck.

Amateurish and tedious.
Poor acting and a shoddy script with unbelievably asinine dialogue makes it almost unbearable. If you need a movie to nitpick apart, this one is a treasure trove in almost every regard.

It needs about 45 minutes to become even mildly interesting but at that point, you have probably already given up hope. If you're in this deep you might as well stick with it to the end... but it's barely worth it. At least there are some sci-fi elements near the end.

Swedish mega cult classic.
When suffering through a rampaging hangover, this is the ultimate movie to re-watch.

Mandatory viewing for Swedes!

Harmless mockumentary.
A bit of fun with several bizarre characters, and the whole idea of an underground dodgeball tournament is amusing.

Pretty good.
It helps the movie tremendously if you are familiar with Ashens from Youtube, nevertheless this is a decent comedy with some rather absurd and funny moments. Brilliant cameos!

There isn't much to whine about since it's all in good fun and it's not meant to be a 500 million dollar budget blockbuster. This was partly crowdsourced and you can buy the Blu-Ray or DVD today!

Recommended, especially to Ashens fans.

This movie could have been great but comes off as horribly annoying, mainly due to the characters being written too moronic - especially the main lead.
She is royally obnoxious and really rubbed me the wrong way. Her actions are mostly incomprehensible.
I wondered a few times if this is a really brilliant actor but eventually decided against it. Unlikable character portrayed by a poor actor is the truth.

Still, it's a cool sci-fi romp with some mind-bending qualities. While not groundbreaking, it has some nice twists worth catching.

Sci-fi/time paradox fans should definitely grab it, otherwise barely recommended.

Decent sci-fi with a nice premise, executed well enough to make it a worthwhile viewing.

Actors are somewhat believable even though the story grows fairly ridiculous as the conclusion draws closer. At the end I had trouble accounting for the behavior of several characters. The script would have benefited greatly from a more experienced writers hand.

The special effects are a bit weak and the fight choreography is mostly sub-par. With a UFC star like Michael Bisping present, I really expected better fight scenes, at least when his character was involved.
"The Count" does do his role justice which probably says more about the caliber of the 'professional' actors involved than Michaels acting ability.

Slightly recommended, but don't take it too seriously.

With some friends, pizza and beer, this movie is hilarious and enormously entertaining.
On its own however, it blows chunks like a V8-powered snow blower in a crowded McDonald's ball pit.

If you want to see the proper version of this exact movie, grab "Faster" with The Rock. It's a hundred times better, at the very least.

Just to mention some of the finer points to this crap fest... they aren't even spoilers since there is no way to spoil this stinker more than it already is.

  • The Plymouth seen on the poster has a supercharger and air intake scoop protruding out of the hood. Surprise: the actual car in the movie does NOT.
  • The 'hero' is a flabby beer-gut toting loser who spent 10 years in prison without aging one day or changing physique/haircut/beard in any way at all.
  • Also, he prefers shooting people in the head, and does this with frightening precision. Remember he has been imprisoned for 10 years straight without even touching any firearms.
  • The ridiculous amount of memory flashbacks for no apparent reason are seemingly triggered by him seeing tits or ass. The flashbacks almost to a fault contain tits or ass.

Recommended ONLY if seen with friends, pizza and beer. Lacking those, avoid it... seriously.

Very solid movie based on a real story.
The cast is wonderful. All round strong performances, Andy Garcia shines with almost effortless grace.
The title reveals the major plot device, and you can probably imagine that robbing the mob will induce a certain kind of fate. The whole idea is so insane it beggars belief, but the movie familiarizes you so well with the main characters that it seems perfectly reasonable for events to unfold the way they do.
I have nothing in particular to complain about. As mafia movies goes, this one is a great addition.

While it doesn't harm the movie, I do have a small nitpick: spoiler
I would have liked this little thing cleared up, but it's really nothing to fuss over.

Actually not terrible.
You pretty much have the movie figured out by simply reading the plot outline on IMDb.
While generic in most regards, a decent cast makes the whole thing enjoyable and my word, Elizabeth Banks looks gorgeous. (40 years old none the less)

Good enough for a weekday viewing.
Slightly recommended.

Almost, but no.
Too abstract and ungraspable for my liking, and all my sci-fi friends felt the same. I'm sure the hardcore sci-fi geeks and movie snobs will relentlessly love it into culthood.
Great acting-- in fact, the movie deserves to be damn good when it's almost flawless in almost every aspect... but it's such a boring, boring, booooring trip with way too much melancholic funky spices.

I'll be the odd man out here and say what most viewers will think; thank the heavens it finally ended. "Does that make sense? Or is this just in my mind?"
My personal recommendation is to let this one pass you by unless you are so tempted by anything in it that you cannot leave it be. (I have one thought for you if you are tempted - Solaris remake.)

Cancelled.

quote:
The 2009 cult movie went through a number of rumored iterations, including a film sequel, a TV series, and an animated series. It finally landed as a pilot for Amazon Studios. What is different about the Amazon model of programming is that the pilot is online, allowing anyone in America to watch it and leave comments. It is this super-direct focus group mentality that will decide whether more episodes are made.

quote:
It turns out that Amazon made a big mistake when it announced that the pilot episode will be available online for fans to watch. And that the company will then decide whether to proceed with the TV series based on criticism from fans.

"Our 'Zombieland' series will not be moving forward on Amazon. Sad for everyone involved," Reese wrote on his Twitter account. "I'll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard 'Zombieland' fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence."

Edit 5 years later... NOT CANCELLED!

I'm very pleased that they overcame all the roadblocks encountered so the sequel could find it's way to us.
Thank the heavens it did, and hot diggity dangit, we got a real good one too!

This successor to one of the all-time greatest zombie flicks shows that sequels can be great, something that has been exceedingly rare of late.
Fans of the first movie really must grab this one. It is more of the same, obviously... and in my book, that's not a bad thing.

Definitely recommended!

This is a really entertaining sci-fi you would do well to grab.
Twists and turns, ups and downs, slow and fast. Mixing it up and taking no prisoners. The Roswell thing was a brilliant tongue-in-cheek moment. Initial pacing is a bit clumsy but stick with it and be rewarded.

Highly recommended.
