There's something like 600 movies in ICM now that don't belong to any list, did this bothered anyone before? And suddenly some angry people are threatening to leave this great site because it will add a long sought after nice feature!
One must first read carefully the blog, understand it, then comment. The ICM team is doing a great work which is time consuming and not easy at all.
From all the comments out there, only one was worth the attention, Borisk said: I only hope someone doesn't decide to put http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0000000/ through
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt9999999/ in a text file and add all of the imdb database here.
Well, what if that happens? Why not import all the titles (by ICM team) then let the users look for the movies with the search tool?
What I'm doing now is looking in IMdb for all the 700 movies I've watched, which are not on ICM, then add them to My Movies list, then I'll import them here...well it's lot of work...the other way is much easier.
Now, the question is : is it possible to import all the movies from IMDB? or is it too much for ICM database? And do ICM have a powerful search tool to handle all those?
I'm for this feature and I'm supporting the ICM team!!!
Wonderful cinematography, A Masterpiece of USSR cinema I'm wondering what was the cinematic answer to this one?...I think none, American cinema can't do this kind of movies!
This is absolutely the ultimate list! A bit too much American and English speaking films in it, but by far better than any other film list out there. Even if you need four years to finish it (with updates), you'll know much more about the art of cinema and film making. After watching them all, you'll just laugh when watching Avatar and the likes...
The Jussi Award is the Finnish equivalent of the "Oscar" Academy Award. Like the "Oscar", it is presented annually, in 15 different categories, to Finnish filmmakers that have excelled in their craft.
This prize has been awarded since November 16, 1944. A jury of roughly 260 film professionals vote for all the categories (except for the Public Favorite, which the general public gets to vote) in a closed vote.
Well here it is : From Africa, the The Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (Festival panafricain du cinéma et de la télévision de Ouagadougou or FESPACO) is the largest African film festival, held biennially in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The festival is the biggest regular cultural event on the African continent and it mostly focuses on the African film and African filmmakers.
And the complete list of the winners is here :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_FESPACO_award_winners
I've got 2 checks from 7 lists, wow!! Still no lists from Latin America, Africa, Middle East? Iranian cinema? Brazil and Argentina? thank you for the good job.
It's amazing how it won an oscar! it shows for sure how tasteless are the jury and that the academy awards are not serious into art, just plain mainstream and commercial.
On the movie :
Fake acting and poor cinematography, depicting Iraqi like mad terrorists and white American men as the saviors!
