Interesting short indeed. I like it very much. So different, and yet so captivating. Beautifully shot. Beautiful women. Cool hut they r sleeping in, or more the beds. :)

Good. Not experimental even though the title says a "study" of... So nice with a conventional short. I like it (too), as Milton says! Calm, without sound - at least on YouTube! Is it supposed to be that way?

Not my cup of tea at all. Boring.
It's a brutal, yet NOT entertaining mockumentary - and I'm ALSO really puzzled about its purpose.
How can this be on several top lists?

Passed, no more. Beautiful music and not directly boring, but the connection to Wagner's opera Parsifal? And to make a short film of walking around with a handheld camera and filming a little spontaneously. Fantastic! ... Nooot!
How can this be on a toplist even if it's from 1963? Home videos of my own is better!!

The whole film in one part with subs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itHUgSGYW-o&t=1042s

Approved. Beautiful music by Vivaldi. Hard life for the shepherds with the sheep. Too long.

"The last collaboration of Artavazd Peleshian and cinematographer Mikhail Vartanov is a film-essay about Armenia's shepherds, about the contradiction and the harmony between man and nature, scored to Vivaldi's Four Seasons."

Not bad. And the boy's acting at the end is really good! When it came, it was definitely Sweden's most expensive movie. Much of the budget went to build up the castle! I can't see no difference from Hollywood.
Written by Viktor Rydberg - very famous in Sweden for a christmas poem, filmed as a 14 minute short shown on TV every year.

Not as boring as many of these experimental shorties are. Exciting in general, nice editing & nice sync between pictures and music!

A bit slow in the beginning, but grew better.
As usual not really my humor, but Chaplin was skillful objectively for his time.

Boooring, and warning for people who know or think they have epilepsy, I agree! Beautiful music though, but for 15:15 minutes? Come on!

Quite beautiful to watch the warmth turn all into ashes. And maybe, just maybe, form several fantasy figures in it.
From Ubu.com:
"In his 1971 short film, (nostalgia), American artist and writer Hollis Frampton oveturned the conventional narrative roles of words and images. In his account of an artists's transformation from photographer to filmmaker, Frampton burns photographs he had taken and selected from his past along with one found photograph. A calm voice tells a story about an image, but the story is about the following image, not the one shown. Confounding comprehension still further, the narration begins and ends during the photograph's combustion; smoke and ashes get in our eyes while we are trying to make sense of the image and the narration--trying to remember the story that fits the image, trying to remember the image that fits the story..."

It's final, I give up: I'm not a Romero-fan!
66/100 critics think this is great...? The audience knows better in this case, on the contrary: 5.7/10. (2018.10.16)

I folded a few tears at the end. Beautiful story with a fantastic fantasy world, where only one thing annoys me (it has to do with one thing a dead female relative says to Hector in the other half).

Efficient Swedish horror short... That eventually 3 years later lead to Hollywood and the feature film with the same name with Maria Bello and Theresa Palmer!

Imagine this in BD-quality in color with 5.1 surround sound!! :D
Pretty beautiful despite bad copy, nice music (a bit like Disney's early movies, lots of strings). Rain falls over a city in the Netherlands.

Low budget, bad script, direction? Partially sleeping pill after as often a promising introduction.
Aint It Cool News called it "The Best American Horror Movie in Years" when it came...

Efficient horror. I lied on the couch and watched alone while gf Emma was sleeping beside. Our two kids slept in their respective rooms. Cold cords got the hair on my legs to rise several times.

This should be on at least one top list!
