I liked the setting and also the acting wasn't half bad.
But i agree it didn't age that well. I saw this movie for the first time a few weeks ago. And all the shocking parts aren't that shocking or disturbing anymore these days.
Almost 4 hours, and yet it never feels to long and never gets boring. It's been said before but the cinematography is beautiful, one of the best i've seen.
The acting by O'Toole was superb, really really superb. And also there is some great music in here.
The acting and dialogues were amazing. Although i do agree their was hardly any plot.
As for the bike scene, i think it was put their to show the more human side of the bandits. To make you connect more and root for them.
This was by far without a doubt the biggest disappointment of all the movies i've ever seen.
I know this is historically inaccurate and is just an piece of fiction but i expected so much more from this.

Better than i expected, its got this really realistic documentary style. Also it shows the battle from both sides and it doesn't favor any.As for the score, i thought it was quite good and it matched the setting and feel of the movie very accurately.
