I wish they had spent a little more time fixing the plotholes before putting it out. Action is decent but with an uncredible storyline it makes it a cringeworthy movie.
At some points during the movie they decided to switch to completely different genre which throws you really off guard. In addition there is some weird editing which leaves out scenes
Really tried my best, but couldn't finish the movie. Started off cool with an introduction of the bad guys. But their personalities are not well defined. I had the feeling they tried too hard to be like the Avengers mixed with Deadpool. The result is a rambling plot that doesn't seem to captivate
The CGI are amazing and the voice actors were all a good choice. Shere Khan was terrifying and right on the money. The movie scores many point just for taking me back to childhood.
At some moments the movie is too fast. Especially geographically the movie doesn't make any sense. While it doesn't hurt for most of the movie, the final scenes are a bit weak because of this.
This movie lasts way too long for my taste, perhaps is just an Oscar thing I will never seem to understand. The opening scene is impressive and hard on the stomach. But after that the movie fails to captivate. Dragging out every scene does not make a story more compelling. Rather it annoyed me more and more and I had to resist a strong urge to turn the movie off.
lachyas' comment is exactly what I wanted to write. So I can only copy his original comment:
"Greengrass can create and maintain tension better than virtually any other current director, especially when he's working off real events. True to form, this is edge of your seat stuff from start to finish, even if you know the ending already. It's helped by brilliant performances from Hanks and all the other players, as well as a surprisingly nuanced script that presents both sides of the story without becoming overly preachy. The film would have been tighter if it was 15 minutes shorter, but it's a minor complaint when there isn't really a dull moment. If you can stomach the shaky cam then this is a must see"
A nice thriller with some scenes apparently inspired by Home Alone. The fighting scene in Jeb's house is so absurd I thought I had returned to the wrong movie.
First time I actually liked something Will Ferrel starred in. But some of his jokes/moves were already becoming old during the movie, the runtime was just enough
A lot of people were very positive about the movie. But I didn't want to watch it because of Cage, the last few movies I had seen him in were very disappointing. I was convinced by a friend to do watch it. But it was just like I expected, very boring.
Everybody thinks this movie was produced as a dramatic film with with a lot of confusing scenes, but in fact it was just an excuse to make a lesbian scene with Portman and Kunis. Lol. Still unclear whether I liked this movie or not
Ive shaken my head so much time in astonishment of the presented facts.
What really shocked me was that Obama appointed the same people that were responsible for the crisis.
