Terrible script and dialogue ruins the whole thing. It's blithering nonsense with a cool dragon.

The seasons (currently 3) are very distinctive and separate, essentially three completely different shows.
Unfortunately only the first season impresses and merits watching. Season 2 is a tepid bore best skipped, and season 3 struggles to gain momentum making it a questionable time investment.
The cast is undeniably good but only shines in the first season.

Recommended, but only first season. The other two offer nothing interesting and can be skipped entirely.

Doesn't work as a tie-in to the brutal anime series, nor as a separate entity.
Too much has been stripped away from the original story, even for a double feature. What little remained was then clumsily wrangled into this soulless waste of time. The script is terrible and barely any character works. The music goes crazy in many situations where it doesn't fit at all and it stands out like a sore toe in your ears. The effects aren't worth the bother either, a lot of the time it's just people in rubber suits.

If you like the anime or just good movies in general, there's nothing for you here.

Worst entry in the trilogy.

The previous two (Skyline & Beyond Skyline) weren't exactly cinematic masterpieces, but they entertained and had some really impressive visual effects. The third time lacks all charm.

If you want a proper bad sci-fi popcorn flick to mock, this one provides plenty of tropes and cliches throughout.
They even call it Skylin3s for heavens sake.

Not recommended. Stop after the first two as this offers nothing but disappointment.

From what I can tell, fans of the games really loved it.
As someone who never played the games, I consider the movie to be somewhat decent, yet lacking that special something to elevate it above mediocrity.

High points include very competent animation, art direction, visual effects and top notch voice acting. The other parts are more or less forgotten before the end credits finish.
Any comparison to the excellent Zootopia would be very unfair so lets not go there.

Recommended mostly for fans of the games, others have no real reason to grab it, honestly.

Solid good fun with plenty of delicious bonus goodies for Trekkies.

Excellent animation and voice work. The script is wonky enough to be its own thing within the official Star Trek universe, serious enough to be allowed into said universe, entertaining enough for non-Trekkies and quite frankly good enough to merit watching regardless.
There are loads of celebrity voice cameos and easter eggs for the fans. If you thought you recognized a thing, you most likely did.

Well recommended.

Sci-fi drama excellence.

A beautiful show, masterfully telling poignant tales from a small town inescapably affected by the mysterious underground construct "The Loop". The science fiction is ever present in a pleasingly subtle way and never gets in your face, it's not the main focus of any story. It simply is.

Not for binging! Each episode deserves time to ripen in the mind afterwards. The episodes (season 1) are each individual to the degree of almost being stand-alone movies, yet connected on a deeper level.

Highly recommended!

Starts strong, quickly derails into an sluggish plot hole bonanza.

The writers must have thought they were working on a Dawsons Creek/Supernatural mashup. Teen angst permeates the entire show to a point you think it's a running gag.
I assume the characters are supposed to be grownups since their ages are confirmed over and over as they whine endlessly about their numerous personal issues, yet somehow also managing to avoid anything that could lead to conflict resolutions.

This show has almost nothing in common with the Marvel comic origins. Obviously Hulu doesn't have the rights to it, so everything including names and powers are tweaked just enough to escape legal issues.
They didn't even keep the original chest pentagram that Marvels Daimon Hellstrom (Son Of Satan/Hellstorm) has in the form of a birthmark.
In the show, it's just some random squiggles, supposedly scars from being carved up as a kid by his serialkiller demon father with a mystical knife. Yeah, they did that.

The ending is a fierce slap in the face, every ounce of intelligence and rational thought has long since been thrown out the window and we're left with a horrifically cringy and nonsensical cliffhanger. Please, no more seasons.

This Star Trek fan thoroughly enjoyed the partly poignant return of The Captain.

Gratuitous fan service throughout, something rarely seen in ST history. The lower paced storytelling suits the aged protagonist well and breaks out of the classic ST envelope at times, but don't worry; spoiler

Recommended.

Edit: the above was written after the first season. Season 2 is a mess you may regret watching. Season 3 almost retcons the previous ones out and is again hamming it up hard with fanservice, and barely holds its own when you disregard the nostalgia factor.
I still recommend the show, with the caveat that you should be a longtime Trek fan to better enjoy it.

Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins, Danny Kwok-Kwan Chan, Woo-Ping Yuen... if you're familiar with these names, you know what to expect.

The fight scenes are a bit uneven and range from goofy excess to intense excellence. The parts taking place outside of the fight scenes are quite compressed and not really important.
Overall, not one of the better Ip Man movies

Note: oppressive racism portrayed throughout.

Slightly recommended.

Canceled after airing just one episode. Good riddance, it's a tragically bad show. Can't decide if the writing or the directing is worse. 8 different directors, 9+ different writers. Many share the blame here.

Pro tip: don't go out into the Louisiana swamps, alone, in the middle of the night, without equipment/weapons/survival skills/training/experience - especially when at least one more person turns up dead or missing every bloody day... looking at you, clueless lead character who does this repeatedly.

Brilliant in nearly all aspects.

Such a well-crafted show, it's almost a shame to say anything negative. There's is however one thing I'll note as a possible downside. Note: this comment was written after watching the first season.

The plot is obfuscated by the unspoken reality within the story that most characters are native to. The larger picture is long withheld from the viewer as we share the journey of the main lead, Shadow Moon (now that's a great name!). This can get rather frustrating.

It doesn't help that it's a meandering tale, broken up with side stories of various Gods and their peoples. This sometime takes up an entire episode, leaving you a bit baffled and wondering how this relates to the main story.

I say, stick with it and things will clear up along the way. Enjoy the excellent quality and let the experience flow through you. Probably best to watch it all in a short period of time, or even binge.

Recommended, with caution to those easily confused by the quirky storytelling described above.

Tries desperately to be anything other than abject failure. Fails.

This was a worldwide flop for obvious reasons. The movie is atrocious. The visual effects are just too much... over-compensation to the nth degree.

Plot is insanely ridiculous, story is beyond hopelessly pathetic, the young actors had not a prayer in hell to make anything worthwhile out of the unbelievably shoddy script (the experienced actors should have known better!)

Slap a 100 million dollar budget on this piece of crap and the disaster is complete.

Definitely not recommended.

Superb spin on the biblical Armageddon scenario.

From the brilliant minds of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett comes a subtly comedic adventure with a truly superb cast. Michael Sheen and David Tennant shine in the lead roles.

Featuring angels, demons, witches, an eleven-year-old Antichrist, a good boy, Doctor Who references and a great many cameos from top British actors. You're in for a challenge if you try to spot them all!

As a side note, I can mention that it's not inherently blasphemous so it should go down well even with more religiously sensitive people. This stems from the hands-down brilliant writing and not from trying to avoid offending anyone.

A bizarre escapade with a glint in its eye.

It doesn't always make sense, but it surely entertains the whole runtime. Something about time traveler culture shock just has an appealing charm to it.

The actors do a good job. It has a bit of whacky humor, some nice martial arts choreography, a couple of familiar faces and a pleasing final showdown... for all its goofy simplicity, it's really not bad.

Mildly recommended.

The 'LEGO DC' movies aren't even close to being in the same class as the excellent LEGO Movie and LEGO Batman so moderate your expectations. This one is rather weak.

I suppose it could do for the kids into LEGO and Batman, everyone else should steer clear.

A coming of age story, lacking in substance, yet not entirely without merit.

There is a certain charm in such a tale and the adventures of young Thor can be entertaining.
This movie is unfortunately rather bland and poorly scripted. A clumsy offering tailored for the young adult audience, others will find little of interest here.

Could be worth a look if you want to see a more 'authentic' Norse version of Asgard than what MCU offers. Also, Sif is a bit of a badass.

Overall, not recommended.

A pleasant surprise.

Leading man Richard Cabral makes an excellent showing here, along with a strong cast all round in this unexpectedly laid back story.
Definite Tarantino vibes, yet it remains rather calm throughout and carefully uses violence only when the plot calls for it.

Expunge all thoughts you may have about this being anything but exceedingly remotely connected to the eponymous videogame franchise.

There are some weak nods to Doom and id Software, but since the current IP holders Bethesda would have nothing to do with this project, it's just general videogame references that could fit into any sci-fi movie. There's not a single mention or credit given to either game companies.

Looking beyond the videogame non-connection, what's left is a low-end sci-fi horror thriller with the usual drivel.
Ridiculous plot, two dimensional characters, illogical script, clunky dialogue, arbitrary exposition dumps and tropes galore.

It's not completely terrible, I'll give it that. It's a long way from good or even decent. Some ok action and the visuals aren't shabby, and the lead actress isn't too bad... but it probably isn't worth your time.

If you did the mistake of watching the previous pile of garbage, you've suffered enough already. Spare yourself from further brain damage and treat this movie like it never existed.

This is a rather messed up adaptation of one of the great storylines in the Hellblazer history, namely 'All His Engines' written by the legendary Mike Carey. Go buy that graphic novel right now (ISBN: 1-40120-317-5) and prepare to be blown away.
The real story is so much more brutal and cohesive than this adapted train wreck. What really happened in Newcastle was so much worse.

Why they felt the need to change the script so much is beyond me. I guess like most brutal graphic novels, it had to be toned down for the new format and rewritten to better fit a standalone movie rather than being a piece of a story spanning John Constantines whole life over 300 episodes.
But rewriting Mike Carey's work is simply doomed to fail, perhaps reminiscent of the botched Ecce Homo painting (Potato Jesus meme)... knowing J.M. DeMatteis potential, it's very upsetting how this script turned out so much worse than the original.

They rewrote and f*cked up rather important details like how Chas spoiler, or Tricia spoiler, or Beroul spoiler, or Mictlantecuhtli spoiler, or the ridiculous additions of spoiler, and there was never a spoiler.
There's more, but you get the idea. Bleh.

As the animation goes, it's well done and John is voiced brilliantly by Matt Ryan, who also played John Constantine in the shortlived TV series "Constantine". (Another show with great potential and a brilliant lead, killed by the awfully idiotic script.)
The story is still very dark and brutal but really pales in comparision to the original.

Worth watching? Yeah! Just forget the origins and enjoy it for what it is.

I liked the first one, corny as it was. It had some charm at least.

This one is pure unredeemable trash in every way except perhaps the prison set designs. Trust me, it's not worth it. A total mess of shaky cams, wire-fu, horrible dialogue, "clever" script, "acting"...

Completely not recommended.

Complete and utter garbage.

Each sequel in this series has been increasingly stupid and weak. I'd say that the first Maze Runner was at least conceptually intriguing (while still being a rather poor movie), but by the time we get the third movie... there's only a pathetic attempt at a script left, with a talentless cast stuck in moronic director hell.

May we never see the likes of this rancid tripe again. It brings a tear to my eyes that this abortion survivor raked in 200+ million US dollars.

Absolutely not recommended.
