The original is great, this is a piece of crap. I know this is meant to be an "action remake" but lots of the action scenes are too unbelievable, people jumping in "wannabe blade runner" CGI environment.
The story is less interesting, though sometimes they tried to use conversations similar to the original.... Badly.
I love Brian Cranston but there's no use of him here. And yes, Quato is missing.

A friend of mine told me to watch this movie and I liked it. I think Paul Giamatti is great and I don't understand all the negative comments here. No, this is not a fast-cut-mad-action movie, it is just a road movie with some wine references and the tale of a midlife crisis.
I watched it on a small screen. No big screen, no 3D bullshit. I heard lots of reviews that said this movie has no story.
Well it's not a 3 and a half hour long Peter Jackson film. It tells a story with a great sense of balance between story, meaning and action. The cinematography is a pleasure for the mind, but i think this movie is only for those who are not addicted to the giant 3D screens and can enjoy a film watchin in an "old" flat screen cinema.
It's not a Michael Bay movie but contans all the clichés of those CGI madness movies. For example when the lack-of-self-confidence-ex-soldier who has prothesis legs goes hiking with the protagonist's girlfriend
then you should know that he's gonna save the world at the end.
People want happiness and super-color 3D nonsense. At least this movie's not that sloppy Apollo 13 shit! I loved the soundtrack which was free from those hollywood mega orchestra madness...
