The moment when alejandro breaks down with frustration after talking about being turned down by all of the major studios had me almost in tears, true pain.
A very important documentary, fascinating and inspiring.
Everyone who calls himself open minded should give this movie a chance, its not perfect in the way it is made, but it tries very hard to portrait the problem in a fair way.
also note that the maker of this documentary was an acclaimed feminist film maker before doing this, so don't even try to paint it as propaganda.
its not, its raw, from the heart and very in depth.
BLM propaganda with a more than questionable message.
one sided, cliche filled, unnuanced and not even close to historically accurate. and a filmmaker that likes to portray himself as literally jesus at times.
im not even getting into his history.
the movie itself was fine i guess, nothing special
very good, and refreshing to see a "feminist" movie that actually has interesting things to say instead of beating the dead horse of villainizing men and reducing woman to victims.
If you're not sure if this movie is feminist propaganda or not, don't worry, its pretty reasonable.
Even if it weren't, the amazing acting, the style and the writing would still be enough for me to recommend it to anyone who loves 60/70s horror.
gulf war images are breathtaking, and just as a little irony of history, the beautiful syrian ruins shown right afterwards have now been almost completely destroyed by isis
it felt a little clunky at times, but overall i enjoyed it, its very much in the "whatever happens happens" category of movies, it felt a lot like blue ruin, although blue ruin is far superior.
in this one, a few of the twists and turns just weren't as believable, and it left less of an impact on me.
