This really is a tense movie. So many scenes with tension that just hangs in the air, based on simple information asymmetry.

As a reply to the comment by swhaze:

How was this movie actually watched when it was made? This is taken from wikipedia.

"Though Méliès's films were silent, they were not intended to be seen silently; exhibitors often used a bonimenteur, or narrator, to explain the story as it unfolded on the screen, accompanied by sound effects and live music.[46] Méliès himself took considerable interest in musical accompaniment for his films, and prepared special film scores for several of them, including The Kingdom of the Fairies[47] and The Barber of Seville.[48] He did not require a specific musical for any film, allowing exhibitors freedom to choose whatever accompaniment they felt most suitable.[49] When the film was screened at the Olympia music hall in Paris in 1902, an original film score was reportedly written for it."

An ok flick. Some good moments, a decent plot. The best moments were probably Aubreys jokes, at least for me. There mas no "magical essence" that made me dream.

Wrath of man was much more satisfying of a movie, at least for my money.

A Grand Achievement. This movie (originally a play) was written by someone who truly understand the human spirit.

Too often in modern movies i find myself losing interest because the characters don't act believably. (This is one of the things that made "Better Call Saul" amazing as well)

I highly recommend it

Like watching dream.

Easy to understand why Andy Dufresne has a poster of Rita in Shawshank.

I'm a big fan of the noir genre and there is so much juicy acting and the soundtrack is amazing. Recommend it to anyone who loves noir.

A great performance by the late:

Good documentary, even if you're not that interested in architecture.

Weird, this is one of the first movies were I felt that the soundtrack was the weakest part of the movie. It was so predictable, "now it's time to feel something" and the piano + strings get cranked to the max, and in the end it was like you could guess the next note the stings was gonna play. Still a great movie though.

Didn't know anything about the movie when I started watching. Enjoying and fast paced with a good soundtrack. This movie feels like it couldn't have been made 5-10 years ago.

Gave me the same feeling that Stephen King books give, went to the Wikipedia page and it is an adaption of Stephen King book. Who knew?

Watch the original from 2005 first. Then watch this after awhile. There is a lot of overlap this is more of a directors cut, but it add a lot of cool stories and things that were left out the first time

Liked the movie, made me feel like I'm getting older. First thing i did when the movie was done was to put on dead flowers by townes van zandt.

And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave

Worth a watch and only 70 minutes. Much better that I expected. Very Nolan-esque

This movie is probably the worst Kubrick movie ever made, good thing it's only 1 hour long.

A great movie if you are swedish. It has very distinct parallels with Dante's Devine Comedy
