Is 'Autoyawnmata' a word? It believe it should be. Director loves Bladerunner references throughout, yet it always feels forced and artificial. Story is nothing new, really. And Banderas apparently has stopped trying to act properly alltogether.
This film is more beautiful than most people realise! Exceptionally shot, great performances and wonderful music to fall in love with. On an emotional level this is really out there!!
I didn't expect to like this 'tortured soul' story as much as I did. Sure the acting was a little bit over the top at times - yeah, you, Hoff! - and the writer surely was a Shakespeare fanboy, but I felt moved all the same. Two hours of shouting, drinking and mouthing off in a single living room and it never got boring.
Perhaps the most convincing and moving death scene on celluloid I know. Bardem probably died a couple of times during rehearsals, it's that convincing! Love the camerawork as well. Innaritu is a master of making the very real seem very unreal.
My god this is one intense movie!! Camerawork and lighting is very involving and beautiful. The story is epic as well as down-to-earth small. The wonderful soundtrack supports the images very well too.
Deserves far more credit than it's getting. Absolutely beautifully shot and more focused, in my opinion, than Minghella's English Patient, which is also epic. Wonderful performances by Paltrow and Blanchet!
While trying to be a good noir from the start, forgets to finish in style and spoils all with the unusual goody goody ending. Too bad really. Had a great downward-spiral storyline going until the screenwriter got a conscience...

At times looks like a bad soap opera. Has none of the inventiveness that Sir Alfred stands for in my view. A disappointment for me.Movie comment on Interiors

No lists. Incredible! Great acting throughout the film. Very emotional scenes. Appropriate cinematography. 70's but timeless.Movie comment on Fish Tank

Reminds me of the belgian Dardenne brothers films which I also love. Final dancing scene was emotional for me. No words, just dance.Movie comment on Cowboys & Aliens

The idea of mixing two genres is good and can produce a fun film but this is a mess, and a really boring mess at that...Movie comment on The Tree of Life
