I was raised on classic movies. When I got to high school, I couldn't understand how many of my classmates had never seen a silent film. They had movie star crushes like Leonardo DiCaprio and Orlando Bloom. My movie star crush? Cary Grant.
While I ended up with a solid foundation in film literacy through a haphazard method of visiting my vintage local movie palace, watching TCM, and attending the odd film festival, I am now looking to broaden my film base in a slightly more intentional way. iCheckMovies is helping me see the gaps, and then I can hunt for ways to fill them.
