I've noticed there are a few duplicate entries, one is right but the second points to a sort of TV schedule on IMDB which, by the way, does not match the film in iCM. Try to search "thunderdome" or "golden boy", for instance.
@MovieDearest: yes, that will be an option.
@Prequel: please read our statement about personal top lists
@Jumping Elephant: yes, all titles will be added.
We will be working very hard on fixing the existing problems. Bear with us!
I'm still a little confused: if i import my votes history from IMDb, will all of the titles be added (that is, excluding ones added by other users)?
Also, I'm with the people who say we should be able to filter out tv episodes and video games... I would even go further as to say that no one REALLY wants these things on iCM anyway, so why not get rid of them altogether?
beeswax: Not to mention David Lynch. That said, "ichecktvshows" and "icheckvideogames" are not what most of us signed up for, and it would be great if we could filter them out.
Right now, the two biggest things I'm hoping for are a way to remove tv shows/episodes/video games for those not interested, and a way of sorting films that aren't on lists by checks. I don't even want to begin wading through 15 000 new titles looking for films I may have forgotten to check on IMDb.
Maybe there should be two numbers on everyone's profile, total checks and official checks (I know you can see official checks by looking at the top user chart, but it takes longer).
@Erik: You mentioned before that you will be offering the option of only displaying movies that appear in at least one top list. Is that still the case?
If so, then if seeing TV episodes/series/video games/non list movies is a concern to someone, all they will have to do is implement that option when it becomes available.
I don't see any point importing films that not on any lists. Adding films to custom lists can already be done over IMDb, Criticker.com and others... If the defense will be like 'doing it on ICM is the case', then what can you say, if i say 'why not let rating films over ICM'? This is no different than letting people add films that not on any lists. It's exactly the same thing. So I think this path is leading ICM to assimilate itself.
Another update & loads of comments :) Thankx guys for making this possible & happy holidays for you as well!
About the games & tv shows getting added:
Piet & Erik say this:
this functionality does not influence the ranking algorithm used to calculate the top users lists. That is due to the fact that only those movies are taken into account that are in at least one top list at the moment of calculation.
So any of the games & tv shows or any of the movies you add now will not show up on the Most Favorite list I think. You will only see the games & tv shows when you search for a title. So what are someone's criteria to check a game is not such a big issue I find.
A nice feature would be to be able to have a setting that when you search that you would only be shown the movies which are on an official list.
I think TV shows should be excluded from the Most Favorite list because they have an unfair advantage over movies.
The people who check a TV show are the people who have seen every episode, and people don't usually watch every episode unless they like the show (especially for longer shows). On the other hand, it's very common for people to watch entire movies that they don't like.
Lost is already near the top of the list, and lots of other not-so-great TV shows will be flooding the list soon if TV shows are not excluded.

I think the bigger issue with the search is not getting a result from a one character misspelling.Showing items 76 – 90 of 142
