It's nice to know that I can hide my activity. But I'm still not happy about having that messy stream on my profile page. It should be restricted to the activity tab.
I agree with monty. When we have a dedicated tab for activity stream, I dont see the point of having that in the home page. But Im positive that, it will be addressed soon.
At the very least, I'd prefer not having the activity stream show up under the about tab, which should keep its previous uncluttered look. Keep the activity stream under the activity tab, don't have it overflow the about tab of one's profile page.
@Monteyn Your rank has been deleted because you changed your checks to private. If you restore the privacy settings of your checks to public or friends, your rank will be restored.
These changes to the privacy work fine and cover the main problem. The activity stream is overall a good acquisition, as it is configured now. The layout problems are secondary to me. Thank you very much, guys!
I wouldn't mind if the stream was neatly placed beneath the old layout, it informs me of some interesting updates, but having it take over completely from the nice neat layout prior is disappointing. As much as I like seeing Captain Spaulding's cheery little face, it's not very nice seeing my profile spammed with my display picture and it's uncomfortable having the image slowly burned into my retina. It was wonderfully tidy before and now it's just messy and less handy, it feels like a downgrade. I second the notion that we should have an option to disable the stream. I don't want to sound like a miserable bastard, and I still like the site, just very much preferred the way it was before! :)
That's all well and fine, marijn. However, the basic problem remains - the tidy and easily navigable layout of the previous version, not to mention ICM 1.0., is still gone.
Please, give us the option to disable activity stream altogether. I'd like the old layout back and I don't think I'm alone in so wishing.

@LarsC Well, I have just checked your activity privacy setting. It's set to public, so that explains why it is shown when you are not logged in.LarsC
This sounds like a good idea but my activity is still visible after I've logged out. It can't get more public than that.
