Don't mind the negativity from the others. People can't stand change to their favourite websites. Look at the crap that Facebook goes through when they tweak a tiny feature. In fact, I'd consider the negativity over design changes a sign of affection, really.
Thanks again for providing such a great website. As soon as I can spare the $ I'll be purchasing a premium account subscription to keep supporting your efforts.

Is it possible, to see the Activity stuff only among friends at least? I can now see everyone's activity in their profile page which many users will not fnd good I suppose. If it is among friend only then it's at least rerasonable.
Eh, I don't mind. Just bring back the stuff you took off the profile page and I'll be happy. Even better, do what BadSmile suggested. I think personalisation is far more important on a site like this than social interactivity.

My contribution to the constructive criticism:
In the future, when you add new features that involve privacy and privacy-settings, please turn them off/sert them to private by default. I would consider that a matter of, well, decency.
Facebook introduces new features that default to public settings every once in a while. That really annoys me, plainly I think it's rude. I want to be in control of what I publish. I hope you take this into consideration.
Monteyn: Criticism is fine, but even if Piet and the crew have made some significant missteps, your first post's tone and that of many others are not helpful to the cause. If you like this site, why not be supportive?
If we want this site to better fit our ideals, we should assist them in making it so by making constructive commentary. Discouraging the developers isn't exactly the best way to motivate them.
I really like the idea of the activity feed. However... I completely agree with all the others who have said it should be a separate tab or something. It would be a great addition - but I don't like the idea that it should replace everything else. And it is a bit ugly and bloated right out in the open everywhere you look. But with some work it should be great, congratulations on three years!

As some of you already mentioned, we are known for listening to our users. We also want iCheckMovies to be as awesome as it can be.
In the next few days we'll be fine tuning the new activity feature. Your suggestions have been noted and we'll do our best to please as many of you as we can. Just keep in mind that we can't please everyone all the time.
I like the activity thing. I was really looking forward to it. What I don't like is that you removed a lot of other features on profiles. Why remove what list people have made on profiles? That doesn't make any sense.
It would be nice if you made it possible to "design" you own profile. Like drag and drop features as you like on your profile. Listal.com for.example does that really well, Here is an screenshot.
Keep coming with updates, but please add them as additions, not removing other stuff.

We've made some changes to the privacy settings. You can now change the privacy setting for the whole activity stream on the settings -> privacy page.beeswax
