Although almost since the birth of film there have been various color(ized ) movies for the first few decades black and white* was the dominant use. After the 1930s the use of color started to rise until it became the standard in the mid 60s. But even after that filmmakers still continued to make films in black & white, mostly for artistic reason. This are the 100 favorite contemporary black and white movies of the ICM Forum.
