First of all, it amazes me people's lives would be so bankrupt that they'd resort to checking off all the movies on an internet list in order to make them feel better about themselves, but hey, it takes all kinds.
And on the Nausicaa topic, I love it. In my Top 20. Everyone has their own opinions though, so you should watch it and form your own. However, if you liked Miyazaki's other films (notably Princess Mononoke) then this one should fit right in.
@olem92: For the Top 250 a "Weighted Rating" is used. If you go to the bottom of the IMDb Top 250 page you'll find the formula used. I entered the numbers and the "Weighted Rating" of Brief Encounter came out as 7.9 - which puts it outside the Top 250.

Nolan's movies appeal to internet moviegoers far more than all moviegoers in general.I don't think Inception or Dark Knight is any stranger than Star Wars, or Fight Club, or LotR.
