There are so many more modern films that no way deserve a place in the top 250 of all time. Ridiculous notion having Pirates of the Caribbean in there or The Matrix - though enjoyed both at the time they do not stand the test of time.
Faroe Islands* What??? You have seen it?? I think they have only produced 2 films. Bye Bye Blue Bird and a movie called Barbara. Btw, my teacher is in that movie :)
Yes, exactly Niels2!! I would not have any check, because I have seen 1 faroese movie but I can't find it here. If you are wondering. Faroese is spoken in Faroe Islands. People keep asking me where it is, please don't, just google it :)
I can't imagine having to see movies that were made before my time! What a bizarre concept. Thank goodness I was born in 1979 so I could watch Apocalypse Now. But unfortunately I will never be able to watch The Deer Hunter. Sigh.
@insomniaticnimrod I saw most of the movies and I'm an 18 years old Argentinian. This means that I read subtitles for almost all the movies and saw many films waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy before my time. I don't see an excuse.
@insomniaticnimrod:
I know, it's outrageous isn't it? How dare people make movies that aren't in English? And don't try to tell me they might be any good. If it isn't in English it isn't worth seeing, period.
And anything older than me has got to be a complete waste of time, right? I mean, nothing interesting ever happened before I came along. My mom said so herself. Don't believe a word about any wars or revolutions or anything like that. If it didn't happen while I lived, it didn't happen.

Movies are timeless. Their artistic quality does not degrade over time (the same applies to any other art form).
But they can go out of fashion; some people like 17th century dresses, but wouldn't wear them in every day life. I'd say, give those old movies a try. Once you get used to them, they become very comfortable.
The vast majority of these movies are in english - if anything there is a heavy bias toward American and British movies. And the ones which aren't all have subtitles. You may be only 20, but you can read, can't you?

I think Farao Islands have only produced 1 single full length movie?Bye Bye Blue Bird. Not a masterpiece of any standards, but I quite liked it.

LOL, if I had to stick to movies in my mother tongue I'd have a rather poor choice of movies and and a awful low number of checks on this site.Thank god there are subtitles (and language courses in school)!

Just nailed the list again :) Watched The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. Great movie! Isn't James Stewart the greatest actor ever or is it just me?George Bailey
Yes, I agree with TheMajor! I hated old movies because they were b/w but then I watched Psycho and I absoloutely love old cinema now! And I am 14 :)TheMajor
