Here's a list of the most remarkable and outstanding achievements of german cinema. Even after Lang, Herzog and Fassbinder there are some great directors and movies nowadays, that are often overlooked and need to be seen by a greater number of people.
This list focuses on contemporary works since 1990 until today because movies from this timespan are totally underrepresented in canons of german cinema.
The movies are listed in chronological order.
I'll update this list everytime I see a movie that deserves a mention.
