Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)'s activity

It's really just a video game popcorn movie but even judged by those standards it's still so mediocre. There's some decent stuntwork buried in there but it's shot in such a way that it struggles to take full advantage of it. Plot is rather sluggish and only ever ventures into mildly interesting territory. A main highlight that could have been so much more is Iain Glen as an Illuminati member and almost a male version of Lara in some ways. The fact that both Lara as the protagonist and the villain are both tomb raiders and work outside the law was ripe territory for exploitation and conflict between them, but alas. The whole vehicle comes off as a movie struggling to understand its source material and as a result went the generic route.
