Nina Hoss delivers one of the best performances I've witnessed for a few years, absolutely outstanding.
Another compelling film by Christian Petzold which defies the didacticism so common for holocaust/war movies and too often for German cinema, and instead leaves enough room for thoughts and interpretation. The ending scene is breathtaking.
Hard to think of a better ending to a film, it brings so much together and has immense emotional power. It's heart-warming to see so many intelligent, moral, sensitive human coming together to make a film like this. Set immediately after the war it feels like the essential Holocaust movie.

The last scene is so simple, but so hugely powerful...Very good art-movie about love in difficult times and our 'hidden' motivations.
