There are two types of Horror films:
One, which relies on cheap scares and in-your-face monstrosities, much like The Conjuring.
The other type, relies on eerie cinematography, bone-chilling music, and induces a gradual stream of terror which besets your heart even after the film is long over. Example: The Omen (1976)
...
Decent film. However, it does not compare to the class of Wednesday. The romantic interventions could have been done away with, it was obvious that the film was trying to be more 'filmy'.
Plus, there might have been this plot hole -
If Jimmy Shergill is a member of Ajay's group, then why does he have to involve CBI in to the mix? The whole team could have gone on with their heists with relative ease and looted many more people. Involving the real CBI is just plain dumb, if you can call that a legitimate risk.
An OK film by Anderson's standards.
Does not match up to Zissou, Tenebaums or Darjeeling Ltd.
The soundtrack wasn't the usual best, and the children though good were not compelling enough like his usual adult protagonists. Maybe because the adult characters had greater depth.
Also, the film title did not feature the usual 'Futura' font :|
Missed Owen Wilson. And Bruce Willis did not fit in the mould of the usual Anderson characters, maybe the latter should stick to his old crew...
The film boasted of mesmerizing acting through and through. The technical aspects, I feel were ahead of its time. It resonated style all the way. This is the kind of cinema that one hardly forgets...
The plot is difficult to follow especially if you have not seen the series...the series is way ahead of the movie in probably all aspects except for the look...
Wonderfully refreshing and the best part is that it is not at all imposing like other films in this genre tend to be.
Great performances and a a lovely watch...
