I'll be the first to say that this is one of the best animated movies I've ever seen. *MINOR SPOILER ALERT!* The first half starts off by appearing to be just your basic cute, funny drama/slice of life anime with the 2 main characters inexplicably switching bodies with each other. (A pretty overdone, basic concept.) But, then there's a twist halfway through the film that makes you go "Oh! So, that's why this has been happening!" And, from then on you are shown more and more of how brilliant this movie is. I honestly didn't want this movie to end. I wanted it to keep going. I highly recommend this film.

It feels like they took the great characters from the original Zoolander (ie, Derek, Hansel, and Mugatu) and put them in a mediocre film with unlikable side characters and a few celebrities. There were some great Zoolanderisms in the movie, but overall the humour fell flat most of the time.
This documentary gives a fascinating look into the individual lives of people from the trans/drag community. (Also, April Carrion is a beautiful queen and I loved seeing a bit of where she came from.) The only criticism I have for the film is that it kept jumping back and forth between the people it was examining.
The acting was pretty poor at times, but other aspects of the film make up for its shortcomings. The music is absolutely fantastic and the way the film was shot with a strong emphasis on red and blue lighting was really interesting.
Some of the visuals in this film really stood out and were completely mesmerizing. The story itself was unique and well done, but a little confusing at times. I might have to rewatch this one so I understand where all the characters are coming from.

Animation was spectacular as would be expected for a Ghibli film, but there wasn't a lot to love about this film other than that. I found the main boy and girl to be unlikable and the story as a whole was pretty basic.
I wasn't impressed and a lot of the jokes fell flat for me. I think the minions are hilarious as comic relief or in short videos, but they're only good in small doses. The movie got pretty dull and predictable after a while.
I'm certainly not an expert on cinematography, but even I noticed a fair number of flaws in the movie. Still, I can certainly see how it was great for its time and how it's become so iconic. It's definitely superior to many of the horror movies of recent years.

Very charming and sweet. I absolutely loved the animation. The messages in the film are simple enough for children, but adults should find it fascinating as well.
It just goes to show you that the implication of mental illness is far scarier than any fictitious monster that a writer can think up. A most excellent horror film.
I was completely on the edge of my seat watching this one. Extremely well done! My only issue is how we didn't get to see the investigation into the death of Neil Patrick Harris' character. Surely the police would have been able to piece together how Amy must have killed him because there would have virtually been no way for her to get a hold of a box cutter if she was tied up. Other than a couple plot holes, I absolutely loved it!
A great kid's movie with a unique story and beautiful artwork. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for something new and fresh in the world of animation.
