I really liked this movie and found it really quite moving. All the actors, especially the young ones were really impressive and the presence of a few big names added to the quality.
The scene where Jasper lays in bed wondering about the racism towards his friend almost had me crying.
The one thing I will say is this film just does too much. You had the threads of small town suffocation, the murder mystery, Jaspers story, the romance, the racism, the cute friendships, the abuse, the writing etc. It was just a little too cluttered. It did add dimension sure but none of those dimensions were allowed ample time to be explored. From the very first scene, the synopsis even you believe it will be all about the mystery and yet this really doesnt see a lot of air at all!
But overall a really good Aussie movie.
I thought this was really great. It had tempo issue but there were some really funny moments. The focus was on the good guys and babies, the bad guy got his two seconds and it all resolved so damn sweetly.
The first 40 minutes is the probably its strongest.
Not a player of the game, husband wanted to watch. So many questions, so much stuff made zero sense. What was the lie of father to daughter? Was she misled about the apple? Surely not...
Besides that it was just kind of boring. Some nice fight scenes but so little development of any characters at all and the story was so what the fuck at times. Like they knew this day that they needed to go back to in his memories, why the foreplay?? Why this whole OMG desycning thing? They should have just removed that aspect the bloody machine aspect was already to complicated. What was the epidural for? Why was he still regressing when it disconnected from his waist? Was the epidural actually how the images became projected?
I loved this!! I have been watching so many animations lately and this one was just so fun! So little actual spoken word and yet it had great heart and warmth! The gags were well placed and actually funny given the slapstick nature of it and it all ended nice and happily!
I definitely needed this after the ridiculous MI2! Pretty good action flick! Little bit ridiculous premise with the whole corruption, mystery substance with stupid name but the actors made it work.
Wow, ridiculous. That motorbike scene was the stupidest shit I have ever seen.The tyres kept switching and it just seemed so silly and cartoon. And the love story was rushed and kinda fake. And a flashback to umm, like 10 hours ago??? That is just pointless.
Loved it! Really great, the story wasn't quite as touching as the first but overall this was a really good movie for adults and kids alike. The animation was awesome and the pacing of the movie really surprised me, it was good! All the voice actors were wonderful also.
Well I don't care what any lists or things say, I love this movie. I watch it if i'm sick and it makes me feel better. I wanted to be a spy as a kid and so treasure movies are my weakness.

The soundtrack though! Loved everything about this movie! Lucy Liu was the highlight of course, and despite not being into anime/assassin films, I loved all the action scenes!
I didn't know this was based on a true story going in. I loved the movie, I really, really did. The ending was so unsatisfying though. I was really sitting there like wtf, are they really doing this? But true to the story I guess... Many of the supporting cast were great, Kristen Stewart was NOT, that whole part felt silly, like hey we are hollywood we have to have a weird romantic plot line, with a teenager! Anyway, great movie, regardless of the ending. Live your lives guys!
Just didn't feel like the book at all! Everything that happened was changed, which was so weird. They even called in Heaven street, and yet insisted on Ja and Nein's???? The german/english mix made no sense. In the book it works of course, Death tells the story in English and uses the German words were equivalents are not available or to remind the reader that its happening in German. It just came across dumb in the movie. So many integral messages from the book were changed completely or not there at all. I just really couldn't work out what the movie was trying to focus on, or portray at all besides sad war story, which is not the essence of The Book Thief at all.
Great movie, well acted, well paced, music is bloody awesome.

I always feel so cautious when there is MAJOR hype over a movie and with a young adult novel adaptation I knew this really could have gone very badly. But... I was pleasantly surprised! Everything made me feel like I was reading the book again (except the comical looking bones) and it all moved really well. Everyone was cast beautifully and there was enough humor and sap to keep everyone happy (well happy while bawling their eyes out). It really did get me crying more than I thought it would!
I agree with another comment that some of the dialogue did seem a little too "novelly" and not really fitting with actual real life speaking but it didn't detract from the positives for me.
Slow, boring and just no fun at all. Well maybe Eugene, he was pretty great! Especially as a you know what. Without him I don't think I would have gotten through this movie.
I really liked this movie, not only did it offer up an incredible story done absolutely beautifully, the symbolism throughout was wonderful also making me really think about what was happening. The final scenes with Pi and his family were touching and a beautiful way to really sum up the whole idea of the movie; this is the Life of Pi.
Terrible movie but it did have its funny moments. Emma Watson was the highlight of the movie and she didn't really hang around. I have never been a huge fan of this "group" but I did make me feel like I could sit through some of their other movies.
So yes, terrible movie but hey it was funny and I actually kind of enjoyed watching it.
Wonderfully clever and downright amazing. I was a big fan of Roald Dahl as a kid and this movie was a great big monument for one of the greatest writers we'll ever see. I was surprised how engaged I was with the story too and not just the incredible animation and the wonderful characters. They were all wonderful! Even Rat! Ah cuss this movie was just cussing great.
