"My recommendation: make the progress screen (with the IMDB tab first) the start page for iCheckMovies. It's still the best starting point to get to know the site."
As many people already pointed out, exact matches don't get enough priority. I thought this was improved during the beta testing, but now it seems to be worse again.
I also think it's a bad idea to not allow free users to filter search results. It makes it very difficult to find some movies, and being able to find movies so you can check them is one of iCM's most essential features.
@seabreezes and deliberado: If you're having trouble finding movies, I suggest using this bookmarklet:
Just add it to your bookmarks toolbar and then click it while you're on the IMDb page to search for the movie on iCM. I use this bookmarklet all the time and it helps a lot.
plus nowhere have the site makers said that 2.0 was the final version or that those options won't be added on at a later stage.
a lot of these arguments boil down to the fact that some internet users just want what they want, right now, for free, and screw anything getting in the way of that no matter how valid the reasoning. and if they don't get it, it's a huge outrage and pretty much the end of civilisation. some of you need to calm down and relax a little.
I would understand the outrage if major parts of the site had been removed, but as far as I can remember you were never able to search by any of those things.
Search was working perfectly fine for me on the free account before I upgraded, except for a few results acting strangely which I guess is due to teething problems. Maybe there are still some browser issues are still going on for some people.
I would love it if you could remove the rank number (i.e. #13256) from the progress page. The font for your actual progress (i.e.27/50) is a tad too small and very annoying to read and browse through. I think most people care more about their progress and not their rank, and it looks messy with both numbers on top of each other.
(Also, why have the "All" tab? It would be nicer if the first page you looked at were the official imdb lists)
Well once the guys remove the search limit for free users, the list adding limit for paying users and work out the bugs which were bound to come with the launch of 2.0, I think it will be infinitely better than the original ICM. Of course I understand that it's hard to see that now.
My recommendation: make the progress screen (with the IMDB tab first) the start page for iCheckMovies. It's still the best starting point to get to know the site.
the new features are nice, but the old site was much better. it is very hard to keep the progress on the official lists now, since the overview and the categories (imdb, critics etc) are gone.
and there seem to be some bugs, my watchlist only contains 3 movies, but there have been almost 30 before the update. any chance to to retrieve the missing movies?
I guess I have to search for an alternative site. any recomendations?
But I still hope that you guys fix some of the most annoying things and bring back some of the great experience of icm 1.0

Search isn't limited to 10 items, that's a bug on our servers. The paging for those pages is broken, we're working on fixing that.jamie_atp

adding the Progress link to the main Lists dropdown would probably make it more obvious.mr-pink
@PeacefulAnarchythanks! not that easy to discover.
now i just need my watchlist back (about 25 films are missing)

The overview and categories are still there. Click on your username at the top and then the Progress tab.mr-pink

Watchlist doesn't seem to work properly. It loses films and orders them strangely.Showing items 16 – 30 of 107
