I saw it when I was young and thought it was a perfectly fine comedy. Re-watched it and it holds up ... as nothing special but not at all terrible either. Just a silly 80s comedy.
Most of the real laughs were provided by Charles Grodin. -

I think the title and basic synopsis didn't appeal to me when I was young. A shame really. I think I might even have enjoyed it more back then.
It is one of those movies that has influenced so many others that you feel you've seen much of it before.

This movie is exactly what is being advertised. Fun with great stunts.
This is one of those movies that could have been great. I can't put my finger on what is off. Great actors with wonderful, or at least weird, performances. Others just come and go without leaving a mark.

Fun.
It was kind of fascinating watching this film. I don't know why I didn't like it. It is like everything is just a little bit off.
I haven't seen the original so I am not going in with any prejudice of that kind.
Funny scenes. Less funny scenes. Fun monsters. The sentimentality worked on me in Afterlife but less so here.
Just fine. -

I didn´t really enjoy the first third or half of the movie but it did get better as it got going. Not a good movie but it has a couple of jokes that I liked.
I have avoided this film for years because of the "accident" but I decided to go ahead just skip the Landis-part.
I don't dislike "sentimentality" as some do but Spielberg's was just corny.
Dante's segment seems like it could have been good or even great but was mostly "meh".
George Miller's was the best one (which I believe is also to Dante's credit) but suffered because I've seen it parodied a few times (notably Simpsons) and so it had very little impact.
Uninspired. Felt padded. By the numbers. Too many songs but that could have been alright if they were good. -
